Diversity Won Britain's Got Talent

Susan Boyle's dream of winning Britain's Got Talent remained just that. With bookies offering odds of 10-11 that she would clinch victory over the show's strongest-ever field, last night's climax was supposed to belong to the 48-year-old Scottish spinster who has become a global phenomenon. But when results of the final public vote were announced, Diversity, a youthful 10-member dance group from Essex, had pushed her into second place, in front of a TV audience of up to 20 million.
Standing a few paces away from them as the result was announced, Boyle was magnanimous in defeat: "The best people won. They are really entertaining. Lads, I wish you all the best."
Diversity, which includes three sets of brothers, impressed the judges with a frenetic routine which included a cheeky reference to the panel's buzzers. Three members of the multi-ethnic group, which won the £100,000 prize and will perform at the Royal Variety Show, donned red caps to represent the buttons pressed to order acts off the stage.
Stumbling over his words after the win, choreographer Ashley Banjo, 20, said: "I was saying 'guys, second!'. When you said our name – honestly, I'm going to wake up in a minute."

Diversity's mini dance star - Falling Flat

Diversity's mini dance star sobs after falling flat on his face during display for Gordon Brown outside
Street dance group Diversity won Britain's Got Talent by showcasing brilliant modern routines to catchy music that were technically perfect. And young frizzy-haired Perri Luc Kiely stole millions of hearts as he was flung in the air by his friends and signed off the act with an amazing backflip. But the 13-year-old came a cropper last night as he fell flat on his face outside No.10 Downing St performing one of his acrobatic moves in front of Gordon Brown.
The poor lad was in tears and had to be consoled by members of his group and the Prime Minister's wife Sarah.
spokesman for the group said the youngster was 'absolutely fine, just a bit shocked'.It all started off well as the group set about entertaining the PM and the crowd of special guests who'd gathered to watch them perform. They began the routine on chairs, working through their carefully choreographed performance with the energy and professionalism that saw them win BGT earlier in the year.
Backed by thumping dance and RnB music little Perri performed some of the group's more daring manoeuvres, including being thrown both horizontally and vertically - reaching over 12ft in the air at one point.
The group even cheekily recreated the budget, with one member removing his blazer to reveal a shirt with the number 10 on the back, while another member used him as a door emerging with the famous red briefcase.
